Héctor Bellerín is set to stay at Barcelona despite interest from elsewhere, report Marca.
The 27 year-old joined Els Culers this past summer, but failed to fulfill expectations. Even though he is the only natural right-back at the club, Xavi preferred to use Sergi Roberto and Jules Koundé in his position in the first half of the season.
Over the past couple of weeks Bellerín has been linked with a move away from the Catalan coast, most recently to AS Roma. However, it appears as though the former Arsenal man will stay at Barcelona until at least the end of the season. Due to Financial Fairplay Regulations, Barça will be heading into the January transfer window with a budget that will make it very difficult for them to sign a replacement.
At the end of November it was communicated that Bellerín has expressed his desire to stay at Barcelona for the foreseeable future. Nonetheless, as things stand, it seems very unlikely that the club will extend his contract beyond June 2023.
