‘He will not continue at Barcelona’ – Deco meets with agent of Blaugrana star

The departure of a member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week moved ever closer. This comes amid confirmation of Blaugrana director Deco sitting down for a meeting with the agent of Roony Bardghji, to talk through the youngster’s exit route.

Wide-man Bardghji has of course seen his status in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad take a hit this summer. Following the respective arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, the Swede has lost his place as Lamine Yamal’s first-choice backup.

At a crucial point in his development as a player, Bardghji has therefore been informed that a move away from Catalunya’s capital is considered best for all parties.

The Camp Nou brass would favour a permanent sale featuring a buyback clause, ensuring that control is maintained over the 20-year-old’s long-term future.

And as alluded to above, this week, developments towards precisely as much have been confirmed. Below, Bardghji’s agent, Christian Emile, can be seen arriving at Barcelona’s offices.

Shedding light on the situation, Blaugrana insider Carlos Monfort explains:

‘Deco met with Christian Emile, Roony Bardghji’s agent, this morning. The Swedish footballer, as advanced by Fabrizio Romano, will not continue at Barça. They are already looking for a team where he can get more minutes and gain experience.’
