‘He could be fired’ – Fresh trouble at Barcelona as Joan Laporta ‘furious’ with Xavi

A remarkable turn of events has been touted at La Liga giants Barcelona on Thursday.

This comes amid claims that, out of the blue, manager Xavi has seen his future on the bench in Catalunya’s capital thrown up in the air once more.

As per a mounting number of sources, the relationship between Xavi and Barca president Joan Laporta has soured over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes with the latter having been left deeply angered by comments laid out by the Blaugrana’s headmaster in a press conference, in which Xavi highlighted the financial woes at the club once more, whilst simultaneously highlighting the need for reinforcements to his squad for next season.

Laporta viewed as much as being in direct contrast to the sentiments laid out by Xavi in recent discussions over his future.

As per the reliable Tot Costa, the former has therefore not travelled with the Barcelona squad for their La Liga meeting with Almería on Thursday, highlighting the fresh problems behind the scenes at the club.

Jose Alvarez Haya of El Chiringuito TV, meanwhile, has gone a step further.

Citing further sources in Barcelona, he points towards Laporta being nothing short of ‘furious’ with Xavi.

Incredibly, it is even suggested that, regardless of the result at the Power Horse Stadium tonight, the Spanish tactician ‘could be fired’ over the days ahead.
