Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is eyeing a reunion with a former member of his Bayern Munich squad in Catalunya’s capital. This comes amid the understanding that the German tactician is keen to link back up with Alphonso Davies.
Canadian international Davies is for his part fresh off what has been an impressive opening to the new campaign.
Having put another injury-plagued season in 2025/26 behind him, the left-back, still just 25, has taken to the pitch on eight occasions between the Bundesliga and Champions League.
And along the way, Davies has racked up a head-turning five direct goal contributions.
Whilst such production has come as a welcome boost for Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich, it has also not gone unnoticed on the part of one of Davies’ former managers.
That’s according to Fichajes, who, citing El Nacional, report:
‘Hansi Flick has made Alphonso Davies his top priority to reinforce FC Barcelona’s left flank.’
With Alejandro Balde out of favour, Xavi Espart considered a right-back in the long-term, and João Cancelo getting on in years, Davies is viewed as the ideal addition to his squad by Blaugrana boss Flick.
It is also noted that Bayern Munich ‘haven’t ruled out’ the sale of their long-time full-back.
