Hansi Flick wants 3 La Masia talents with Barcelona for pre-season

Incoming Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is ready to afford a trio of La Masia graduates a place in his first-team ranks for pre-season.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

Flick, for his part, is understood to have been keeping an eye on developments at grassroots level in Barcelona for several months now.

As much came with the German having never given up hope of replacing Xavi in the dugout in Catalunya’s capital.

One of his lead assistants, in turn, was a regular attendee at fixtures across several levels of Barca’s youth setup this year.

And, based on the reports written up, Flick has decided upon three players whom he is ready to afford the chance to impress to in pre-season.

As per Sport, the players in question come in the form of Marc Bernal, Marc Casadó, and Andrés Cuenca.

For those not familiar with their names, Cuenca is a 16-year-old central defender, Bernal a 17-year-old defensive midfielder, and Casadó also a deep-lying midfielder, who was afforded four first-team appearances by Xavi this past season.

The trio will join recent La Masia graduates Pau Cubarsí, Lamine Yamal, Fermín López and Héctor Fort in the senior setup at Barcelona this summer, with hopes of impressing new headmaster Hansi Flick.
