Hansi Flick sends transfer request to Barcelona ahead of the summer

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has sent a request the way of the club’s board, regarding their plans for the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

Flick, it is claimed, is for the most part happy with the options at his disposal with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.

The German, however, is of the opinion that a specific profile of player would help to take his Blaugrana squad to the next level.

As much comes in the form of a full-back capable of playing on either the right, or left.

Whilst Barcelona’s first-choice full-back pairing of Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde have been in fine form across the season to date, Flick is eager for further depth and alternative options more suited for specific opponents.

In turn, as per the aforementioned Sport:

‘The German has asked the sporting management for the arrival of a full-back of a level who can alternate the two wings to finish rounding out the squad and the club will do everything possible to bring him in.’
