Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an insight into his plans for the returning Gavi moving forward.
This comes after the midfielder was afforded his latest cameo appearance off the bench on Sunday evening.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming city neighbours Espanyol to Montjuïc for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged 3-1 victors, owing to a Dani Olmo brace, either side of another goal on the part of the in-form Raphinha.
The aforementioned Gavi, for his part, was forced to watch on from the bench once more from the off, amid ongoing efforts to recover full fitness after almost a year on the sidelines.
The Spaniard was introduced to the fray late on, but only for the final five minutes, to take his playing time for the season beyond the half-hour mark.
Speaking to the media post-match, the subject of his cautious use of Gavi was, in turn, put to manager Hansi Flick.
And the German tactician went on to assure:
“Gavi will play with us gradually. He is a very important player for us.”
