Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has made contact with a leading player representative, to recruit his help in bringing in a late-window signing.
That’s according to Barca insider Gerard Romero, who points towards Jonathan Tah as the player in question.
The name of defender Tah has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after tentative reports that the Camp Nou brass were expressing an interest in the signature of the Bayer Leverkusen star were backed by a number of more reliable sources.
Amid claims that Eric García could yet secure a return to Girona, Tah, it is understood, has been earmarked as the ideal replacement.
Ahead of the expiration of his contract with Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen in 12 months’ time, the German international could allegedly be available for as little as €20 million.
And one firm supporter of any Blaugrana move for Tah, it would appear, is manager Hansi Flick.
As per a report from the aforementioned Gerard Romero, Flick has contacted super agent Pini Zahavi, over the possibility of reuniting with a player whom he knows well, owing to their shared time with the German national team.
It is added that a bid for Tah is ‘subject to the economic situation of the club’, but this saga is certainly one to keep an eye on over the final days of the transfer window in Spain.
