Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has come to a decision on rest for his side, in the aftermath of another hugely disappointing result on Sunday.
Barcelona, of course, are fresh off slipping to their latest defeat last night.
After welcoming Leganés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash, the Blaugrana were ultimately condemned to the wrong side of a 1-0 result.
As much means that Flick’s troops now sit joint-top of the table alongside Atlético Madrid, just a point clear of Real Madrid, despite having played a game more.
Evidently, however, the coaching staff at the club are of the opinion that punishing the players for their recent dip in form is not the answer.
Two days of rest had long been pencilled in for Barcelona to start this week, today, and tomorrow.
This comes with the Catalans having not been afforded a single day of rest since the November international break.
And, according to Diario Sport, the plan, despite Sunday’s defeat, has not changed in the eyes of boss Hansi Flick:
‘The coach understands that it is time to give oxygen to the squad by not having to play during the week and has maintained this idea, so it will be from Wednesday when he will begin to prepare for the match against Atlético de Madrid on Saturday at Montjuïc.’
