Hansi Flick evoking memories of Barcelona legend with early pre-season style

The early exploits put forth by new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has given rise to early comparisons between the German, and something of an iconic figure on the touchline in Catalunya’s capital.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Luis Enrique as the tactician in question.

Flick, for his part, was finally afforded a first opportunity to get an up-close look at his new squad of players in Catalunya’s capital two weeks ago.

And, safe to say, the former Bayern Munich boss has since gone on to make his presence very much felt.

Flick has overseen a relentless pre-season training programme, making clear his demands for optimum fitness levels across his squad heading into the new campaign.

Since July 10th, Barcelona’s players have been afforded just two days of rest.

Not only that, but on the days that they are forced to report for training, intense double sessions are on the agenda.

And AS have provided an insight into just how this routine has gone down amongst Flick’s new squad, as follows:

‘The training session plan has been strictly followed, with an impact on the physical aspect that, according to those in the dressing room, had not been seen since the times of Luis Enrique.’

Should Flick go on to enjoy the kind of success overseen by Enrique in the dugout at the Camp Nou, it is safe to say that all of this hard work will have been well worth it…
