Guido Rodríguez provides update on Real Betis contract plans

Real Betis star Guido Rodríguez has this weekend provided a fresh insight into his future.

As much, of course, comes as a parting of ways between the Argentine international and Betis inches ever closer to coming to fruition.

Guido’s terms at the Estadio Benito Villamarín are set to come to a close in the summer.

Despite repeated attempts on the part of the Verdiblancos to tie the club’s midfield leader down to a new contract, an agreement is yet to be found, giving rise to mounting links with some of La Liga’s biggest clubs.

To date, the likes of Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and even Manchester United have been named as expressing a keen interest in the 30-year-old.

Speaking to the media this weekend, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his contract, once more, was put to Guido himself.

And the former River Plate talent kept his cards close to his chest with his ensuing response, albeit whilst confirming that he agrees with Betis’ stance regarding reopening talks upon the close of the campaign:

“It’s the best thing, to wait,” Guido began, as cited by Marca. “There was no “I heard they said that”, but I think it’s the right position.”
