Granada advance to Europa League quarter-finals in first ever European campaign

Granada have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa League in their first ever season in Europe after beating Molde 3-2 on aggregate.

Molde beat the LaLiga side 2-1 in the second leg on Thursday night, but Granada’s 2-0 win in Spain sees them advance into the last eight of the tournament.

Head coach Diego Martínez managed the side in Spain’s second tier in 2019 and in less than two years has achieved what no fan of the club could have ever dreamed of.

Roberto Soldado’s thumping header on 72 minutes was the difference between the sides over the two legs. Molde scored a penalty in the 90th minute but it was too little too late for the Norwegian outfit.
