La Liga outfit Girona have on Friday announced the extent of the injury suffered by midfielder Ivan Martín.
Martín, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from proceedings earlier this week, as Girona got the better of Slovan Bratislava in a Champions League clash.
The 25-year-old’s exit marked a major source of concern, with Martín having played a key role for the Catalans over the early months of the campaign.
In turn, it will come as a blow to all associated with Míchel’s side to learn that the Spaniard is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
As per a statement across Girona’s website and social media platforms on Friday:
‘MEDICAL COMMUNICATION | Ivan Martín suffers an injury to the adductor of his left leg. Down time: 2-3 weeks.’
Martín adds to what is a lengthy absentee list at the Estadi Montilivi at present, joining all of Pau López, Oriol Romeu, Jhon Solís, Yáser Asprilla, Bryan Gil, Portu, Abel Ruiz and Viktor Tsygankov on the treatment table.
