Girona boss Míchel makes clear he ‘expects more’ from one player

Girona head coach Míchel is eager for one leading member of the club’s attacking ranks to step up his game over the weeks and months ahead.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Arnaut Danjuma as the player in question.

Versatile attacker Danjuma for his part made the move to Catalunya late in the summer window, in something of a surprise loan switch from La Liga rivals Villarreal.

The Dutchman has since gone on to feature in all six of Girona’s fixtures, four from the off.

And yet, Danjuma’s performances have left much to be desired, particularly when it comes to production in front of goal.

The 27-year-old is yet to get off the mark in Girona colours when it comes to either goals or assists, shortcomings which have not gone at all unnoticed on the part of his new manager.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Míchel has made it clear that he expects more from Danjuma, and knows that, due to the potential he has, he is a player who must take a step forward.’

Nevertheless, Girona’s headmaster ‘maintains his faith’ in a player whom he expects to play an important role at the Estadi Montilivi over the remainder of the campaign.
