Getafe slap considerable asking price on Real Sociedad target

An insight into the kind of fee being demanded by the powers that be at Getafe for star striker Borja Mayoral has today been forthcoming online.

This comes amid keen interest on the part of Real Sociedad in his signing.

Frontman Mayoral, for his part, is fresh off an impressive campaign on the books of the aforementioned Getafe, which saw him rack up 17 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.

Such production did not go at all unnoticed across the Spanish football landscape, with a number of La Liga clubs understood to be keen on the 27-year-old’s services with a view to next season.

Real Sociedad are one such outfit, with the brass at Anoeta having identified Mayoral as the ideal profile to reinforce their frontline over the coming months.

Any such operation, however, looks set to prove a complicated one to pull off.

This comes amid confirmation of the demands laid out by Getafe for their talismanic striker.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The starting price that Ángel Torres is setting is high, around 20-25 million euros, because it is the big sale that he wants to make this summer to clean up the coffers.’

La Real have absolutely no intention of reaching such a figure, keen to include Umar Sadiq in any deal, albeit with the Nigerian, to date, having rejected the idea of linking up with Getafe.

As things stand, negotiations for Mayoral are therefore considered to be at something of a standstill.
