Getafe head coach José Bordalás has on Friday provided the latest on the situation of loanee Mason Greenwood with the club.
Frontman Greenwood of course linked up with Getafe in the summer of 2023, after being deemed surplus to requirements by Premier League giants Manchester United.
And the 22-year-old has since gone on to enjoy a fine campaign in Spain, on his way to eight goals and five assists across 27 appearances to date.
Such impressive exploits have culminated in links with some of La Liga’s biggest clubs with a view to next season, both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid understood to be keeping a close eye on Greenwood’s situation.
Speaking in a press conference on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the aforementioned José Bordalás was drawn on the future of a player who has quickly developed into a crucial member of his attacking ranks at the Estadio Coliseum.
Getafe’s headmaster, though, could shed little insight into the situation.
As much comes amid fresh confirmation that, when all is said and done, it is Manchester United, alongside Greenwood himself, who will decide the future of the Englishman:
“In the end, his club decides,” Bordalás began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “And also the boy’s intentions regarding his future count. But I can’t say. We are happy with his behavior and his performance. We are only thinking about the game with Sevilla.”
