Gerard Piqué on retirement: “The day I see that I can’t give any more to the team, I’ll leave.”

Speaking in an interview with La Sotana, Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué discussed his plan for the latter years of his career.

“I take it one season at a time. I always think it’s the last one [season] and if there’s another one, that’s fine. The day I see that I can’t give any more to the team, I’ll leave. I’ve always known how to manage my body. When I arrived at Barcelona everyone told me I wouldn’t make it to 34 as a footballer. It’s also true that emotional stability has been key for me.”
