Gerard Moreno suffers fresh injury blow ahead of Liverpool tie

Gerard Moreno was taken off injured in Villarreal’s 2-1 win away to Getafe on Saturday.

Speaking to Cadena SER, Unai Emery discussed Moreno’s latest setback.

“He has been suffering from muscle soreness, again because of a previous injury (right hamstring). It’s normal for him to be frustrated,” Emery said.

Moreno scored the Yellow Submarine’s first goal of the game against Getafe. Manu Trigueros doubled their lead before the break and they held out for the three points in Madrid.

It remains to be seen for how long Moreno will be out of action. The La Liga club take on Liverpool at Anfield in their Champions League semi-final first leg on April 27.
