Gennaro Gattuso: “If you don’t play at 110%, you can lose to every team in the Spanish league.”

Valencia are set to play Celta Vigo tomorrow in La Liga, with kick-off scheduled at 6.30pm local time.

In his pre-match interview that appeared on Marca, Gennaro Gattuso discussed how he will approach the game:

“We have to always play at full strength. We have to always go hard and have the same mentality. If you don’t play at 110%, you can lose to every team in the Spanish league.”

The Italian coach also told journalists that Valencia should not only focus on stopping Iago Aspas from scoring:

“The problem is that Celta are not Iago Aspas, they are a very dangerous team. We have to play a great game and not play a game like we did against Rayo Vallecano because we will lose for sure. It’s an important game for us. We have to win.”

Gattuso also revealed that Edinson Cavani is ready to play:

“We are going to decide whether he is ready to play from the first minute or not. He has trained well. We are happy that he is ready. What do I expect from him? That he scores.”

He added that he hopes he will have the chance to be the Valencia coach in the new Mestalla stadium:

“I hope God gives me the opportunity to live for many years. When I say that I like to work, I really like it when I go to the pitch and train the lads. When I go to the pitch I feel at home. I want to be here for one, two, three or four years. But in football, you can go from hero to zero in a few minutes.”
