Gavi’s sensational Spanish Super Cup showing

Gavi was sensational as Barcelona beat Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.

The Spain international broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh by slotting home Robert Lewandowski’s pass, and he then set up Lewandowski to make it 2-0 before the break.

The man from Los Palacios rounded off a dazzling performance with an assist for Pedri’s goal to make it 3-0 to the Blaugrana.

In his 89 minutes on the pitch, in addition to his goal and two assists, he had an 88% passing success rate, made three key passes, and won nine duels, three of them aerial.

He also made three tackles and was fouled on four occasions, according to Diario AS.

Gavi has confirmed why he is the next big thing in Spanish football along with fellow creator Pedri.

At 18 years of age, Barcelona fans will be able to enjoy him for years to come. He has renewed his contract until 2026 and has only recently stopped living at the Ciutat Esportiva.
