García Pimienta leaves Las Palmas: Is he Sevilla bound?

Las Palmas manager García Pimienta has announced he is leaving the club. This comes despite his contract running until next year, but an agreement has been reached with the club for him to leave early.

Questions are now raised about where the Catalan coach will head next, with Sevilla FC being a possible option.

As per Relevo, Pimienta is one of a number of options to take the reigns at Sevilla, and his 20+ years of experience managing a variety of teams in Barcelona’s La Masia academy will make him a frontrunner in terms of experience.

Despite poor results leading to Pimienta’s departure, he will still be remembered fondly by many fans of the Gran Canaria side, having brought the team from the second division and transforming them into a mainstay in La Liga.

With this departure occurring right after the season has ended, it gives Las Palmas a full summer to find a replacement and to get the squad ready for next season, where they will be looking to improve on a 15th-place finish.
