Future of Barcelona pair João Félix and João Cancelo thrown up in the air

An insight into the plans of the powers that be at Barcelona for loan signings João Félix and João Cancelo has been provided on Thursday.

The ‘two Joãos’, of course, made the move to Camp Nou this past summer. As the Blaugrana went in search of much-needed depth both at the back and up top, Cancelo and Félix were brought in on respective loan deals from Manchester City and Atlético Madrid.

And they went on to enjoy thoroughly impressive starts to life in Catalunya, looking like the missing pieces from Xavi’s squad.

Recent weeks, however, have seen the pair’s form wane. Félix in particular has seen his production in front of goal fall off the side of a cliff, now a full ten games without a goal across all competitions.

And, if the latest reports are anything to go by, then such struggles appear to have cast seeds of doubt in the heads of the hierarchy in Barcelona.

As per a report from journalist Javier Miguel, what previously looked like a certainty, in Barca making their deals for both Cancelo and Félix permanent, is now in doubt.

It is suggested that ‘everything is up in the air’, with the Blaugrana giving consideration to turning their attentions towards other targets for next season.
