Frenkie de Jong: “I don’t care where I play.”

Last night Barcelona defeated Villarreal 3-0 at the Nou Camp in the 10th round of La Liga.

In a post-match interview that appeared on Marca, Frenkie de Jong discussed the importance of the victory:

“After the bad results against Inter and Real Madrid we needed to win. Villarreal is a good team, and a 3-0 win is a good win. If you win games, it always helps you and the atmosphere in the dressing room is much better. I’m very happy.”

The Dutchman was asked whether he prefers playing in Sergio Busquets’ position:

“I don’t care where I play, I feel comfortable when I touch the ball a lot and today it happened. I’m very happy about that.”

De Jong is also keen to play on the weekend as he is fully fit:

“I was a little tired, I had a strained calf. However, I’m fine for the weekend.”
