Frenkie de Jong clashes with his agents regarding his future

As reported by Sport, Frenkie de Jong and his agents disagree over what step the player should take this summer.

In July it was communicated that Joan Laporta and the Barcelona board are trying to do everything within their means to resolve the future of Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutch midfielder would like to stay at the Blaugrana. However, the club have asked him to take a pay-cut as they cannot afford him on his current salary, nor can they generate the funds necessary to register their new signings.

De Jong’s agents have been pushing for their client to move to the Premier League where several clubs have shown interest in signing him.

One of the clubs that would like to see the 25-year-old play for them is Manchester United. However, the Dutchman rejected the opportunity to move there for sporting reasons.

It is believed that Chelsea are also considering to make an offer for De Jong, which could prove to be a better option for the midfielder as he could play in the Champions League.

De Jong’s agents are very much against the idea of their client taking a salary cut.
