A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is considered a potential future contender to take his place on the club’s bench.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Thiago Alcântara as the individual in question.
Ex-midfield maestro Thiago of course spent the early weeks of the season affording a helping hand to new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes after the 33-year-old called time on his playing career owing to long-running injury problems.
An open offer is understood to remain on the table for Thiago on the part of Flick and his staff, who would be more than happy to have the Spaniard back on board.
Thiago’s ambitions, though, stem far beyond such a role.
As per a report from Diario Sport, the ex-Blaugrana star is already eyeing a future head coaching role in the game.
Not only that, but, owing to his footballing roots, tactical acumen and Barcelona DNA, down the line, as much could yet come in the dugout at the Camp Nou…
