Former Barcelona starlet Mikayil Faye is already beginning to spark excitement back in Catalunya’s capital.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Saturday confirmed that the Camp Nou brass are keeping a close eye on the efforts of their one-time defender.
Faye, for his part, departed Barcelona during the summer, linking up with Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais.
As part of the agreement, though, the Blaugrana secured for themselves a buyback option, as well as a percentage on any future sale.
For this reason, those behind the scenes at the club were watching closely last weekend, as Faye was afforded his first appearance for Rennes.
After a spell on the sidelines through injury, the 20-year-old was thrown in from the off in a high-profile meeting with AS Monaco.
And though his side were ultimately put to the sword, Faye shone bright, providing an excellent account of himself as part of a back-three.
As much put those back at Barcelona ‘on alert’, increasingly excited by their potential future prospects involving the talented young defender.
