Former Atlético Madrid midfielder Augusto Fernández is on his way to Segunda side Cádiz as an emergency signing for the injured Luismi Quezada, according to Marca.

The 34-year-old will provide a wealth of experience to the Andalusian club as they look to return to the top-flight for the first time since 2005. Cádiz currently lead the Spanish second division by three points.

Fernández’s former club Celta Vigo were interested along with Vélez Sarsfield, however the Argentine has opted for Cádiz.
