Ferran Torres has no intention of leaving FC Barcelona

Ferran Torres has endured a mixed time at FC Barcelona since he joined the club. He was first signed by Xavi in January of 2022 and hit the ground running, but in his first full season since joining Barça, he has struggled. He suffered a foot injury that interfered with his pre-season last year and he never managed to fully get back on track.

Torres started only 14 league games last campaign, scoring four goals. Speculation has been rife that he could be on his way out of Barça, but as reported by Relevo, Torres was quick to shut down the rumours. “I am very happy at Barça and my intention is to continue,” said the forward. He has stated his intentions clearly and next season he will be looking to redeem himself.

The Catalan club are not short on forward options and Torres will have to force his way back into the starting eleven. Raphina and Ousmane Dembélé were stalwarts in the team last season whilst Ansu Fati is Barça’s golden boy and found some form towards the end of the season, so Torres has his work cut out for him.
