A front-runner has emerged in the race to secure the services of Barcelona defender Héctor Fort before the summer is out. The club in question? Borussia Dortmund.
Youngster Fort is for his part widely expected to be on the move over the weeks ahead.
Informed by Hansi Flick and his staff that he does not feature in the club’s plans for the fast-approaching new campaign, the full-back has accepted that his immediate future lies away from Catalunya’s capital.
To date, a whole host of clubs from across the continent have been credited with an interest in bringing Fort in, with the Spaniard appreciated for all of his versatility, technical quality, attacking output and room for growth.
And as alluded to above, amid the ongoing battle for his signature, one suitor have over the last 24 hours positioned themselves at the front of the queue.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Borussia Dortmund have already held talks for Héctor Fort and are currently the best-positioned club, just as we reported previously in an exclusive. The youngster would look favourably on a move to the Premier League, but, as things stand, Borussia are the club showing the most concrete interest.’
