An insight into the nature of the fitness setback suffered by Atlético Madrid star Cristian Romero has come to the fore online. This comes amid confirmation that the Argentine is expected to miss his side’s next couple of fixtures.
Stopper Romero for his part featured from the off on Saturday, as Atlético made the trip to Barcelona for a La Liga meeting with Espanyol.
En route to an eventual 1-0 triumph, however, the former Tottenham Hotspur standout was hooked midway through the 2nd-half, owing to an injury complaint.
Romero, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests back in Madrid on Sunday.
And as alluded to above, an insight into the results of these scans has since been revealed. The info comes courtesy of journalist Antonio Ruiz of COPE, who confirms:
‘Tests on Cuti Romero reveal he does not have a serious injury. The centre-back has a mild issue in his adductor. The plan is for him not to travel to Stuttgart tomorrow, and he is expected to be out for a maximum of 10 days.’
