La Liga outfit Espanyol have on Monday announced the extent of the injury suffered by striker Javi Puado.
Frontman Puado, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Espanyol’s latest outing over the weekend.
En route to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Real Betis, El Glorioso’s captain limped out of proceedings early in the 2nd-half, clutching at his left knee.
This morning, Puado was, in turn, put through a round of medical tests.
And the results of as much have since been revealed.
As per a statement across Espanyol’s official website and social media platforms, ‘Javi Puado has sprained the internal collateral ligament of his left knee’.
Mundo Deportivo point towards the 26-year-old, who has found the net three times in eight appearances thus far this season, as being in line for a spell of somewhere between two and six weeks on the sidelines.
