Eintracht Frankfurt striker Gonçalo Paciência close to joining Celta Vigo

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Gonçalo Paciência (28) is close to joining Celta Vigo, according to Matteo Moretto.

Negotiations between the player and the La Liga club have accelerated in the last few hours.

The Portuguese player became one of the club’s main attacking options after missing out on Borja Mayoral.

He played 604 minutes in 24 games last season, scoring five goals. Both clubs are still working on the deal, in a transfer that would complete the club’s attacking department for the new campaign.

Paciência is expected to travel from Germany to Spain in the next few hours to finalise his transfer to Balaídos.

Celta have had a busy summer in the transfer window. Agustín Marchesín has been brought in between the sticks. The defence has been strengthened with the loan signing of Unai Núñez from Athletic Club and the free signing of Óscar Mingueza from Barcelona.

Óscar Rodríguez has been loaned in from Sevilla to bolster the midfield. Celta have also snapped up 24-year-old American Luca de la Torre and 18-year-old Swedish talent Williot Swedberg as Eduardo Coudet’s men look to improve on their 11th-place finish last campaign.
