Edinson Cavani back in training for Valencia

Edinson Cavani had his first training session with the whole team following the completion of an individualised fitness plan, report AS.

The Uruguayan took part in the session on Sunday morning. It appears as though Gennaro Gattuso has stuck to his words, who on Friday announced that Cavani would join the team’s training sessions in the coming days. His physical progress this week will dictate whether he makes his debut for Los Che against Celta Vigo at the Mestalla next weekend.

The former Manchester United striker, who has not played a game since the 22nd of May, spent the last 10 days following a specific gym work plan designed by Gattuso’s fitness trainer. He felt positive after completing the training programme, which is why he indicated that he is ready to join the rest of the squad.

As Valencia are not in any European competitions this year, their next game will be against Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled at 6.30pm.
