Real Madrid defender Éder Militão set to return for Madrid derby

A pelvic injury will rule Real Madrid defender Éder Militão out of the club’s next two fixtures, according to Relevo.

The Brazilian will miss the matches against Mallorca (La Liga) and RB Leipzig (Champions League) but is expected to return for the Madrid derby with cross-city rivals Atlético Madrid on 18 September.

Militão’s team-mate Karim Benzema looks set to miss the clash with Diego Simeone’s side at the Wanda Metropolitano. Benzema came off injured in the 30th minute in Madrid’s 3-0 victory against Celtic in midweek.

The French striker has, however, already started to work on his recovery. The setback will keep him out of action for around a month, according to AS, as he is expected to return on 2 October, when Real Madrid host Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Spanish defender Jesús Vallejo is back training with the squad, while Álvaro Odriozola continues to recover from a calf problem.
