Eden Hazard’s season can be summed up in 392 minutes. Only Mariano Díaz, Álvaro Odriozola and Jesús Vallejo have played less for Real Madrid in 2022-23.
AS report that Hazard wants to stay at the Bernabéu until his contract expires on 30 June 2024, but Real Madrid would prefer to find him a new club.
Hazard has the highest salary at the club, earning €30m gross per season, but he has only played 10 games in all competitions this season. With Marco Asensio set to leave the club this summer, head coach Carlo Ancelotti will want to add to his forward line as Hazard is not in his plans.
Earlier in the season, Ancelotti tried to convert him into a false nine, replacing an injured Karim Benzema. He scored and assisted against Celtic but that was the last time he found the back of the net and he has only provided one more assist since then.
His intention is to stay in the Spanish capital for another season. Only time will tell.
