Eden Hazard: “I want to play at Real Madrid and I don’t play.”

Last night Belgium defeated Wales 2-1 in the Nations League.

In his post-match interview which appeared on AS, Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard was asked about his situation at Los Blancos:

“There have been complicated moments because I want to play and I don’t play. I feel good at Real Madrid, I just play less. And when I play, I play well. It’s a delicate situation because I want to play more.”

The 31-year-old was in Roberto Martínez’s starting XI against Wales and was substituted in the 65th minute to make way for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard. Nonetheless, he was happy that the Spanish coach picked him to start the game:

“I know what I can do when I play. I want to get as many minutes as possible and be fit for the World Cup.”

Belgium travel to Amsterdam to face the Netherlands on Sunday in the final group game of the Nations League.
