Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Atlético Madrid’s match with Sevilla on Tuesday, head coach Diego Simeone spoke about the possible signing of Moussa Dembélé from Lyon.
“The deal is not done yet, but we’re in advanced talks to sign him.“
Dembélé is expected to join Atlético from Lyon on a loan deal with an option to buy the 24-year-old French attacker for a fee of between €33m to €35m.
Simeone quickly turned his attention to tomorrow night’s game against Sevilla, congratulating Julen Lopetegui on signing a new deal at the Andalusian club.
“I congratulate him on his extension. He’s doing a very good job, with a defined style that makes the team feel comfortable. He has always been like that as a coach in the teams where he has been. I like Sevilla, they always have a special, competitive character, they have strengthened very well as they always do. They have very good players and a strong squad. They will compete until the end to win the league.”
