Diego Simeone hailed Jan Oblak as the best goalkeeper in the world in his post-match press conference after Atlético Madrid’s famous 3-2 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night. Oblak was outstanding on the night for Los Colchoneros, saving his side on multiple occasions throughout the 120 minutes.
“I have no doubt that Oblak is the best keeper in the world. Messi decides games offensively, Oblak does it defensively. He strengthens the team. He’s so important, just like Savic, Lodi, Felipe. We have the best goalkeeper in the world, the same as Barcelona have Messi.”
