Diego Simeone: “I don’t see myself managing Real Madrid in the same way I wouldn’t manage Cristiano.”

Atlético Madrid face Rayo Vallecano in the tenth round of La Liga tomorrow evening.

In his pre-match press conference that appeared on AS, Diego Simeone was asked about whether he ever contacted Cristiano Ronaldo about a potential transfer to Los Colchoneros:

“No, I never spoke to Cristiano Ronaldo. I explained it in the interview the other day and I have little more to say. I don’t see myself managing Real Madrid in the same way as I wouldn’t manage Cristiano. With his style of play it’s difficult to see him at Atlético.”

The Argentine coach also discussed how he the team is approaching the game against Rayo Vallecano:

“We are focusing much more on the videos and corrections that we must make about what we do and what our rivals do very well. We are going to face a very intense team like Athletic, the best in crosses, ball recoveries and we will find a team with many weapons.”

“Last season they were at a great level and showed no fear. We saw their match against Athletic to prepare for the San Mamés game and they did very well,” he added.
