Details: What ex-Barcelona star Mingueza said to Vinícius in Real Madrid vs Celta altercation

An insight into the head-turning altercation between Vinícius Jr. and Oscar Mingueza during Real Madrid’s meeting with Celta Vigo on Sunday has come to the fore online.

Real, of course, are fresh off a much-needed return to winning ways.

After making it just one win in four en route to scraping past RB Leipzig in the Champions League’s Last-16 in midweek, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops welcomed the aforementioned Celta to Spain’s capital in search of a bounce-back performance.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what they produced, en route to an eventual 4-0 rout.

The aforementioned Vinícius, meanwhile, kicked the scoring into gear at the Santiago Bernabéu, slotting home from close range with 20 minutes on the clock.

And yet, early in the 2nd-half, the Brazilian was then back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons once more.

After being dragged back by Oscar Mingueza in his attempts to break towards goal, Vinícius responded courtesy of a needless push on the former Barcelona man.

The 23-year-old was shown a yellow card for his part in the incident, meaning he is now just a solitary booking away from a La Liga suspension.

The anger showcased in Vinícius’ reaction gave rise to suggestions that Mingueza may have been responsible for some form of verbal provocation, in addition to his prior foul.

If the latest footage stemming from the Bernabéu post-match is anything to go by, however, then this in fact does not appear to have been the case.

As revealed by Movistar, who caught the altercation up close and personal, the former Barcelona defender did little more than try to explain himself, in repeating:

“I have to stop you, I have to stop you.”

After Lucas Vázquez then involved himself in the incident, Mingueza added:

“I’m talking to you calmly, I’m talking to you calmly.”
