Details: The massive fee Barcelona eventually paid for Ousmane Dembélé

An insight into the final sum paid out by La Liga giants Barcelona to sign Ousmane Dembélé has on Thursday been forthcoming online.

And the news will no doubt come as a source of pain for all associated with the Blaugrana.

This comes amid confirmation that, when all was said and done, wide-man Dembélé managed to activate all of the bonuses included as part of his arrival from Borussia Dortmund.

As per a report from Diario Sport, citing information from German outlet Bild:

‘According to information from the German newspaper ‘Bild’, published by market specialist Fabrizio Romano,
Barça has already paid all the bonuses and the operation was finally closed for 148 million euros.’

This fee is made up of an initial €105 million up-front, which were followed by a hefty €43 million in paid add-ons.

Considering how Dembélé’s Camp Nou stint turned out, coupled with the acrimonious nature of his departure, and this pans out as one transfer which those behind the scenes in Barcelona will be eager to forget as soon as possible.
