Details: Gavi completes full ‘mini-match’ in Barcelona training

Barcelona starlet Gavi on Wednesday took another significant step towards his imminent return to competitive action.

As much came by way of his participation in a ‘mini-match’ at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Gavi, for his part, has of course spent recent weeks ramping up his recovery from a long-term spell on the sidelines, owing to an ACL injury suffered whilst on international duty with Spain late last year.

The 20-year-old has gradually stepped up the intensity of his training sessions, now taking part in the majority of drills alongside Hansi Flick’s squad.

And, as alluded to above, this afternoon, his comeback moved another step closer to coming to fruition.

As per a report from Què T’hi Jugues, since backed by a series of further outlets, Barcelona’s coaching staff held a match between ranks in training on Wednesday.

And Gavi, for his part, saw out the entirety of the 45 minutes, looking sprightly and impressing both on and off the ball throughout.

It is, in turn, considered as increasingly likely that the midfielder will be given the green light to take his place in Barca’s matchday squad to face Sevilla in their post-international break return to action.
