Deportivo secure deal to sign Bayern Munich youngster

Returning La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruña have this week closed an impressive deal on the transfer front.

This comes amid confirmation of the brass at the Estadio Riazor having reached a final agreement to land Jonathan Asp Jensen from German champions Bayern Munich.

Depor are for their part of course currently preparing for life back in the top-flight of Spanish football. After securing long-awaited promotion to La Liga this past season, Los Herculinos have set about building a squad capable of competing back at the top level.

Talks, in turn, were recently kicked into gear over the aforementioned Asp Jensen. Youngster Jensen is a 20-year-old attacker who capable of filling a number of roles either in the middle of the park, or the final third.

The Dane spent the 2025/26 term plying his trade with Swiss giants Grasshopper, on loan from Bayern Munich. And across 40 appearances, he directly contributed to an eye-catching 15 goals.

Such production had given rise to transfer interest on the part of a whole host of clubs from across the continent heading into the summer.

As alluded to above, though, in the end, it was Deportivo who agreed to meet the demands set out by those behind the scenes at the Allianz Arena.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Deportivo La Coruña agree deal in principle to sign Jonathan Asp Jensen from Bayern. Official bid accepted by FC Bayern and by the player too, after Lazio proposal rejected by the club.’
