David Alaba talking up Real Madrid in effort to lure Alphonso Davies to La Liga

An insight into the efforts of David Alaba to convince Alphonso Davies of the merits of a move to Real Madrid has been provided this afternoon.

It is of course common knowledge that Real have identified Davies as their prime transfer target, with a view to next season.

Keen to reinforce the left-back options at the disposal of head coach Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich’s star stopper is viewed as the ideal addition for present and future alike.

To this point, the German champions have showed little openness when it comes to the possibility of parting with Davies any time soon.

But the 23-year-old has seemingly not closed the door on a move away from the Allianz Arena, in rebuffing the efforts of the Bayern brass to tie him down to fresh terms.

And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Bundesliga heavyweights do not only have their counterparts in the Real boardroom to contend with in their efforts to convince Davies to reject the prospect of a move to Spain.

Additionally, they are being forced to battle against the word of a player to have swapped Bayern for Real in the not-so-distant past.

The man in question? David Alaba.

Defender Alaba of course opted to call time on his stint in Bavaria back in 2021, before putting pen to paper on terms at the Santiago Bernabéu.

And the Austrian international evidently feels that this proved the correct decision.

In turn, as revealed by German transfer insider Christian Falk, as part of his latest column for Caught Offside, Alaba is actively talking up Real Madrid as a club, in an effort to convince Davies to join him in La Liga:

“David Alaba and Davies are obviously good friends and the former is of course speaking of how great Real Madrid is.”

Falk continued:

“Don’t forget that Madrid can also pay a big salary! I think there’s a big chance for Real Madrid at the moment.”
