Dani Ceballos to fight for Real Madrid contract renewal

Dani Ceballos is determined to use the rest of the season to earn himself a contract renewal at Real Madrid, report AS.

The 26-year-old has been struggling for game at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. He has only played for 209 minutes so far this season, the fourth lowest in Los Blancos’ squad. There are serious doubts over whether the club will offer him a contract renewal.

Earlier this year Ceballos was linked a return to Real Betis, however, a deal did not materialise between the two parties due to the Andalucían club’s poor financial standing.

Nonetheless, it appears as though the Spaniard is willing to stay at Real Madrid this January and showcase to the club’s board that he deserves to have his contract extended.

Ceballos and Toni Kroos are the only two Real Madrid midfielders who didn’t go to the World Cup with their respective national teams. With the European champions expected to play eight games next month, this will be the perfect opportunity for the Spanish midfielder to show Carlo Ancelotti why he should be offered a new deal.
