Carlo Ancelotti wants Dani Ceballos to stay at Real Madrid

Dani Ceballos’ future may have taken a radical turn, as Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep the player at Real Madrid, according to AS.

Ceballos has been at Real Madrid since the summer of 2017 but has never broken through into a regular role. Largely on the fringes, the midfielder has made just 43 La Liga appearances and spent two years on loan at Arsenal. Several rumours throughout the season have linked him to a move back to boyhood club Real Betis.

However, as per the latest reports from AS’ Sergio Santos, Ceballos may yet find his future at Madrid. Ancelotti is reportedly happy with the midfielder’s recent substitute displays, but what has impressed the Italian most has been his professionalism. Despite injuries and several months of little to no game time, Ceballos has been a diligent player in training and never complained about his lack of minutes.

This has paved the way for a positive perception of Ceballos at the Bernabéu. Reports suggest that the club are prepared to offer him a renewal before bringing up any question of his sale.
