Dani Ceballos wants to go back to Real Betis, report AS.
Previously it was communicated that Real Madrid are open to extending the 26-year-old’s contract, which is set to expire in June 2023. Even though he is not a regular starter, Carlo Ancelotti has expressed that the midfielder is part of his plans at the club.
Nonetheless, it seems as though Ceballos wants to leave Los Blancos in the interest of having more playing time. He had the opportunity to establish himself as a regular starter while Luka Modrić was sidelined, however, he suffered an injury that could keep out of the team for the next few weeks.
The Andalucían expressed his desire to go to Los Verdiblancos, from where Real Madrid signed him in 2017. It is believed that Real Betis have already put the wheels in motion to re-sign Ceballos next summer.
The Spanish international was part of the Real Madrid team that won La Liga and the Champions League last season.
