A photo centering on José Mourinho and Dani Ceballos has turned heads across the Spanish football landscape on Sunday. This comes after the latter was seemingly caught smiling at his defeated former manager.
Real Madrid are of course fresh off being condemned to a first defeat of the new campaign on Saturday evening. After making the trip to Sevilla to lock horns with Real Betis, a whole host of wasted goalscoring opportunities ultimately culminated in Los Blancos being put to the sword by a goal to nil.
This marked a result to remember for several members of Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis ranks, with both Fran García and the aforementioned Dani Ceballos having swapped the Bernabéu for La Cartuja just this summer.
The latter, after being informed that he was not part of the plan of the incoming José Mourinho’s plans, even saw his contract terms terminated a year early.
On Saturday, Ceballos, though, had the last laugh…
