A fresh insight into the situation of Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque has on Sunday been provided.
And the news will no doubt come as a concern to all associated with the club.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Mundo Deportivo that his lack of playing time is beginning to have a serious impact on Roque’s wellbeing.
The frontman is understood to be confused with developments since his arrival in Catalunya’s capital, struggling to come to grips with exactly why his transfer was brought forward by six months, only for him to be largely confined to the bench.
With a loan stint away from Barcelona now looking increasingly likely for next season, MD add that, once considered a joyous figure, Roque now ‘seems sad and even at his house he is not able to disconnect from his situation on the team, even to the point of crying’.
The 19-year-old was always going to require patience in working his way into the XI of Blaugrana boss Xavi, but it would appear that he is increasingly of the opinion that his limited minutes have come owing to a lack of faith in his abilities more than anything else.
It remains to be seen what the final weeks of the season hold, but Roque’s situation is certainly one to keep an eye on.
