Confirmed: Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti finds new job

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has agreed on the terms of an imminent departure from the club.

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that the legendary tactician is all set to take up the reins of the Brazilian national team.

Ancelotti’s future has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last 48 hours.

This comes after Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey final defeat at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona all but confirmed his summer departure.

The brass at the Santiago Bernabéu are ready to take things in a new direction entirely, with Xabi Alonso the current favourite to replace Ancelotti on the Blancos’ bench.

And as alluded to above, on Monday, such a development has moved a significant step closer.

As per a report from the reliable Fabrizio Romano:

‘Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil have reached an agreement in principle for the Italian to become Seleçao head coach for the World Cup 2026.’

The plan is for Ancelotti to see out the La Liga campaign with Real Madrid, before departing for Brazil before the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
